Exploring Existentialism: Roots, Key Concepts, and Educational Implications

According to Jean Paul Sartre, man was born without his own and stepped in the panorama of the world. However, he has such an option that he can choose the objectives of his own will. Many times in life people face a situation in which they have to choose one or more things or issues from among different things. Some of these  choices are temporary while some are related to the purpose of life. These are the decisions that each person makes on their own, based on their personal status. It means that on the basis of these decisions a person develops his personality by himself. Which is called his real deed.

According to existentialists, the universe is neutral with respect to human desires and plans. Human freedom is universal, just as human responsibility for choice is universal. Another important concept in the philosophy of existentialism is fear, every person knows that his existence will end one day when he will disappear from the world, because his existence in the world is temporary. Every intelligent person is fully aware of this fact. That is why man chooses between freedom and slavery, love and hate, peace and war.
