1:- Introduction:
Critical thinking and reflection routines are complementary elements of each other. On the one hand, critical thinking is used for reasoning skills and the practical application of strategies that increase the likelihood of achieving desired outcomes. They bring forth purposeful results and are based on efforts to achieve desired goals. Through critical thinking and reflection, solutions to problems are sought, conclusions are drawn, possibilities are assessed and various decisions are made during critical thinking. On the other hand, if we carefully examine the habits of reflection, they can be called the process of analyzing and examining an event. It is the active continuous and careful use of one's knowledge.
2:- Reflection:
Different authors and researchers have explained the
reflective process in many different ways. According to Schon, reflective
practice is the ability to reflect on a process in order to continue the
learning process. According to Reid, after analysis and evaluation, we give
practical form to the theoretical aspects of an object. This practical form is
given to improve the future. This process is called reflection. According to
Dewey, the meaning of reflection is not simply to think or ponder, reflection
is a complex word. It is a planned and mental activity that promotes teaching
and learning through experiment.
3:- Importance of Reflection in Different Fields:
If start from home, it is clear that the children of a happy mother are also in a habit of being happy. If there is no confidence in the mother, the children are also scared and cowardly. A sad poet writes sad poetry, a sad artist uses dark colours and his pictures show darkness and negative emotions. A depressed textile designer uses dull colours, while a cheerful and positive designer uses bright and eye-pleasing colours. A confident, tolerant, cheerful and enthusiastic head of an organization also keeps his subordinates motivated and enthusiastic. It doesn't matter where you are, whether you are aware or unaware, knowingly or unknowingly you create your own personal culture. And reflect on the employees, subordinates or students. Your feelings influence your actions and actions reflect your personality. In short we can say that what you feel affects your behavior and actions.
4:- Importance of Reflection in Education:
According to Clements, although it is a difficult and complex process to set the students' own reflection, but it is so important that without it the actual process of teaching cannot be done. It is our daily experience that students forget the syllabus very quickly. It is not that they forget it but the fact is that they remembered it for a very short time.
Teachers complete the syllabus just to pass the exam and students memorize it just for that. We cannot hold children responsible for this omission. In fact, they had not learned it at all. It was stored in their short-term memory and disappeared from there when it was no longer needed. Reflection
is the process of the transfer of acquired knowledge from
short term memory to long term memory.
