SCOPE
OF EDUCATION COGNITIVE EFFECTIVE AND PSYCHOMOTOR CHANGE
Scope of education
Education conforms to the character of the child by
developing all aspects of his personality. It is through education that the morality,
character and behavior of a person is improved.
Human character
changes through education in three ways and these are called the character
objectives of education.
Cognitive
change.
Effective
change.
Psychomotor
change.
Cognitive change:
Through learning, the student acquires concepts and
information. This is the familiarity which brings about cognitive change.
Through education, a person gets knowledge of the world, sometimes new
information brings him closer to things.
By this he recognizes the objects and remembers the
information related to it, repeats it again with the help of memory, interprets
and explains it. And he finds out the interrelationship of its different
components. Namely, looking at things as a whole, assessing its value and
getting aware of different aspects of reality, a change in the knowledge and
orientation of a person takes place. This is the real purpose education. The
real education is for the student to understand the subject under discussion
and acquire all the information related to it.
Effective
change
Increase in knowledge
through education is one aspect of change, this change forms the base of
another change.
This change is related to the formation of habits and
attitudes as a result of education there is a desired positive change in the
character and behavior of the individual.
Rousseau says that a
person learns from nature, things and people, through concepts and information
a person gets new information about things, and appreciates the good aspects of
other people's ideas and determines their value.
Thus he makes good values a part of his character.
This brings about a pleasant change in his behavior and he also influences
others.
Psychomotor
change:
This aspect of education deals with the
acquisition of a skill. While education increases a student's orientation
and changes attitudes and character, it also enables him to participate in
artistic and psychomotor activities.
Cognitive change is related to the mind,
Effective change is related to heart
and the psychomotor change is related to hands.
Education gives information to a student and prepares him for
a change in his behavior and character. And on this base makes him ready to participate
in an activity.
He participates in this activity physically and
mentally and carries it to completion with self-confidence.
In an educational activity, a student was told a story on
the topic of empathy, and this story increased his knowledge. The student
narrated this story in terms of events. This was a cognitive change.
This story led to a pleasant change in his habits and
attitudes, this is called a cognitive change.
If he
sympathizes with a needy person and gives financial help, then this is called psychomotor
change and this is the real and desired education.
A
student learns and is influenced by his nature, objects and people. Learning is
a lifelong process that continues in all situations and at all times. In this
sense, the scope of education is very vast.
