According to Jones, counseling is a process of interpersonal communication that occurs between two people, one of whom is older, more experienced, or more intelligent than the other. This elderly person talks to us about his young age and less experience. Interprets individual problems and assists in problem solving. Counseling actually means self-awareness. This helps the individual to become aware of how he can use his abilities and overcome his forms. Thus in counseling one person is the giver of advice called the counsellor and the other person is the person being counselled. The role of the counsellor is like a key to open the lock of the box and assess the reality.

 

Counseling is actually the name of direct relationship between two people, in which one person who feels difficulties in solving his own problems. Refers to a person for help who can advise on solving problems.

This is an important technique of counseling, thanks to which the person is talked to face to face and arranged in such a way that he goes on expressing his inner state automatically. During the interview a friendly atmosphere is established and all information is kept safe and finally the conclusion is drawn and the treatment is suggested accordingly.

 

Whatever the form of counselling, the clear aim is to build confidence in the individual so that he can articulate his problems, understand them and then act on the advice. What is important throughout the process is that  a friendly atmosphere and relationship should be maintained and the atmosphere of counseling should be pleasant. Counseling is the exploration of problems in a positive manner and suggesting their effective solutions.
