Individual differences of children and the role of parents and teachers:
Differences means being different i.e. every child is different from every other child. For example, physical, social, emotional, creative abilities. Every child is different from others in terms of their emotions, feelings, thoughts, abilities and tendencies.
Just as each person's
voice, face, body, height, eyes, hair, body parts, mannerisms, communication
and working methods are different from others. In this way, each person's
imagination, abilities, tendencies,
desires, feelings and thoughts are also different from each other, we call them
individual differences.
Individual differences refer to differences in abilities
and talents among different individuals.
Individual differences refer to differences and
variations that occur within an individual.
Due to individual differences, each individual is seen as
prominent. This individuality makes the individual superior and also beats the
back. Due to these differences, the individual may also suffer from emotional
problems. Because of individual differences, we can identify dull minded and
intelligent and average students so that we can provide suitable education and
training for them. Thus, students will not feel any hindrance in their
education. Differences Caused by environment and heredity.
Children's
differences and the role of parents and teachers
Individuals differ from each other based on their tendencies
and abilities. Their differences also affect their education. These effects are
related to the environment. Therefore, parents and teachers should play a
positive role for better education and training of children.
Here are some
points:
Attitudes,
Abilities and Role of Parents .
Parents should play their role keeping in mind the
differences in attitudes and abilities of children, they should consider the
following issues:
Behaviour
in homes
Parents must be aware of the mental differences of children.
Otherwise, they cannot guide them. When parents know the tendencies and
abilities of children, they should treat them according to their differences.
Keep in mind their tendencies and abilities in living, eating, drinking,
dealing, literature and manners. If a child likes to eat eggs in the house,
instead of forcing him to eat other foods, he should be given the egg only, sothat
he may eat to his fill. Various tasks in the house should be arranged according to their abilities and tendencies. Otherwise
they will become the victim of unadjustment in the house.
Parental
Desires and Children.
It has generally been
observed that from initiation to higher education, parents choose the subjects for
their children according to their own desires ignoring the children like or dislike
for this reason many of children leave the schools.
If they are not matched according to their
tendencies and abilities, they suffer from incompatibility. Parents' opinion is
usually final about the choice of subjects. They say that children have to
decide which subject is better. Even if it is accepted that the child does not
know how to choose the best, then their tendencies and abilities must be taken
into consideration, so the interest of children in educational activities
increases. If a subject is against the children's will or is difficult for
them, then the children will not be interested in the subject and will quickly
feel loss and boredom, so parents should find out the abilities and tendencies
of the children and adapt them accordingly. Behavior and attitude should be considered.
It will be better for both parents and children.
Mental
differences between the teacher and the children
Along with the parents, the teacher must know the tendencies
and abilities of the children because the teacher has to do many educational
tasks for the children. The teacher should have the following role in relation
to the tendencies and abilities of the children.
Selection
of subjects
In schools, especially in class 9th and 10th, children have
to choose special subjects. Usually his choice of profession depends on the
choice of these subjects. Therefore, the teacher should find out the tendencies
and abilities of each child through the principles of educational psychology
and help and guide him in choosing subjects accordingly. If parents insist on any
other subject, they should be made aware of the children's abilities.
Teaching methods
Teachers should adopt such methods to teach students. which
are in accordance with the inclinations and abilities of the children. If a
method is more or less than the children's abilities will be spoilt, the
children will not be interested in it, which will make it difficult, if not
impossible, to understand the lesson.
Curriculum and children
The curriculum is always set by the government and there are
experts who consider the abilities of the children in the preparation of the
curriculum, but the teacher's job is that if the curriculum is not in
accordance with the abilities of the children, then he should teach it in his
own way so that the lesson can be understood by the children.
Co-curricular activities
There are co-curricular activities for curriculum
understanding and children's physical and social compatibility. These can be in
the seminary and outside the seminary. In this, especially the tendency and
abilities of children should be taken into consideration. For example, if a
child is incapable of playing cricket due to illness or injury, then he should
not be made a cricket player. Similarly, if a child is not fond of outing, if
you send him for an outing, then it will be a waste of time and money, so it is
the job of the teachers to choose activities according to the abilities and
tendencies of the children, then the results will be better.
