The word personality is derived from the  Latin word persona which refers to the whole being of a person as seen by others. It includes aspects of a person's appearance from colour and height to his actions, intelligence, thinking and habits. Personality is our overall impression of ourselves. Personality is the characteristics of an individual that we know by seeing, hearing and feeling.

 

Personality is recognized by the characteristics of charm and temperament. The person's appearance is described in the vision, but the person's personality does not depend only on this one thing, but it is a combination of many things, like sometimes the attitude and behavior of a very beautiful person is bad towards people or he is a bad person. If associated with the profession, he is considered as an undesirable person in the eyes of the people. The process of becoming a human being continues from infancy to adolescence. Every person in the world has some personality like good or bad. Attractive or unattractive. This is the source of his identity. Caste also plays a major role in personality development. Self refers to the self-image that a person feels about himself. With the passage of time, man realizes his identity. No matter what the personality of a person is, he has an interesting personality.

Dignified Personality:

 

People with this type of personality like to keep quiet and are generally reserved. They take care of everything around them and express their thoughts and feelings whenever they get a chance. Serious behavior is not liked in children, we can ask them to do some work by praising them

 

Vivacious Personality:

 

Such personalities are very happy. These are the children who get complete effort and love from their parents and are happy all the time and keep others happy too. These people meet everyone with good manners and get full attention from other people.

 

Aggressive Personality:

 

Children with hot-tempered and aggressive personalities get angry over small things and many times use inappropriate words because they are not trained properly and they do not get affection and love in their childhood. Such children usually make few friends and avoid being in front of people.

 

Balanced Personality:


People with a balanced personality are liked by everyone. They do everything thoughtfully and try to keep themselves balanced. Such people are always successful and happy. They trust people and they can also be trusted.

 

Dramatic Personality:


Such people behave differently and are very active . They can't even be trusted. They exaggerate and seek attention.

 

Sturdy Personality:


People with such a personality take things very carelessly. They are very flamboyant and frivolous. People with such a personality tend to be in the race to get a lot of attention. Because in their  childhood they  could not get much attention for which they make the others  responsible -

 

 

Factors contributing to personality development and their importance

 

Some characteristics of a child are visible at birth, while others become visible as the child grows.

What direction these hereditary traits take, whether they make the child an acceptable and good personality or a bad personality depends on his environment. Modern research shows that most of the personality is due to the environmental factors.

 

Some important factors are discussed as;

iv- Different types of disabilities (physical, mental, social, emotional.)

Home Environment:


Home is a child's first school. Where relationships between adults, children and siblings leave a deep impact on children. Love and respect between parents and good treatment of children creates a pleasant home environment and due to this environment, self-esteem increases in the child and helps in its good development. Restraints and beatings, teasing and environment make the child psychologically sick, the effect of which is visible in his future life. The self-esteem of the child is lost.

A child gets the first environment from home. Along with nature, human environment and relationships leave a profound impact on human life. Personality building starts at home. Our personality experience is shaped by our family experiences. The origin of any person's habits, behavior and personality starts from home. Each person's personal behavior creates a certain type of impression on them. The influence of the home environment is so profound that it cannot be separated from the personality throughout life. No matter what the home environment is. By living together, individuals draw on each other's personal experiences.

 

Early Experiences:


Every child's early life experiences have a profound effect on his personality. Children who generally have happy childhood experiences. They are the ones who grow up contented and happy. Those children also lead life with self-confidence and security. Similarly, children who go through difficult phases and experiences do not thrive in life and become vulnerable to insecurity and distrust. If the parent scolds the child in front of strangers and forbids talking. So the child will suffer from inferiority complex and he will prefer to be alone, his personality will be basically miserable and he will always feel himself as a loser in life.

 

Social pressures:

Every society is reflected by specific religion and beliefs. Every society has its own teachings and standards which the individual strives to achieve and their effects become embedded in his personality and are seen later in life. Every society's lifestyle, clothing, language, literature, character and culture are different and stand out in the personality. A child starts from home, but the society also supports him in shaping his character. It  begins when a child is given his first social education. Later, neighborhood, school, friends and media etc. According to the principles and education, the child will be trained. It will become part of his personality. If a child is brought up from one country to another country, he will certainly see a difference in his education and upbringing and with the passage of time he will adopt the dress, language, education and conversation of the other place.

 

Social culture gradually influences the child. The child imitates it unconsciously or consciously. A child learns and adapts to what it sees in its surroundings.

Physical development includes the child's physical condition, height, weight, and structure which affect the child's play and function.

 

Affect the importance of the task. Proper functioning of all organs of a child leads to good development. The correctness of the organs not only provides ease and convenience to the children in the work, but it also restores confidence in the children. Children who do not get proper food and nutrition cannot develop properly. Mental development refers to the child's intelligence, intellect and consciousness, or seeing, understanding and development. Some characteristics are innate and some are imparted by the environment. A child's mental development has a profound effect on his personality. A wise child works with his understanding and saves his time from wasting, an intelligent child works with a good memory. Because of this, his life becomes very happy, from which the child's personality starts to emerge and grow.

 

A child's sense of love and belonging to others has a profound effect on his emotional development.

 

Success and Failure:

Confidence and happiness add colour to life. The child has confidence in his own self and personality. Such children not only excel but also help others. Success strengthens a child's personality. Success instils confidence and satisfaction in children. Takes a breath of satisfaction and relief at the completion of any task and is not afraid to face the next challenge and constantly puts in full effort.

 

Failure in life makes the child feel inferior. Those children always look to others for help and blame others for their failures. Repeated failure makes the child feel like a failure and creates an illusion that causes shame and embarrassment in front of everyone. To vent their anger, these children beat others and vandalize because of their failure. Aspects of emotional development are interrelated.

A child's emotions are influenced by success and failure in his physical and social experiences. Psychological needs for good personality building and attention from others are essential for a child's self-concept. Confident children continue to thrive. They have the ability to subdue and lead others. Irritability and psychological stress in the child is also caused by the relationship. Some parents are ignorant and don't provide opportunities to jump or sit up to play with others in order to save them from bad environment. Such children are left alone and far behind. They do not develop self-confidence. Children who have an atmosphere of love and trust in their home will excel in school and in the surrounding environment. They get a chance to advance and feel popular.

 

Family Status:


Family status also plays a role in the development of children's personality. A child measures his family status and quality by his clothes, accessories and toys. Children who have few and boring toys feel inferior. Children who have nice toys, clothes and novelties tend to suppress other children and feel depressed. It is the training of the family that can bring the child out of this difficult phase. Bicman says ,
