The need and importance of guidance:

You take the infant only when he needs milk, he makes his need known by crying. Similarly, in the early stages of life, it is the responsibility of the parents to fulfill the needs and wants of the child. As he grows up, his needs also increase. At birth, he is associated with society where he needs help from others step by step. 

History is a witness that in every age the issue of guidance of children has come to the fore as a necessity, while in the present age more confusion and problems have arisen in life. Therefore, the need for guidance in the present era is greater than in the past as fundamental developments have made the environment much more complex. Therefore, there is an urgent need for guidance to adapt to such an environment. If studied carefully, it can be understood that many changes have taken place in the system of our society in the last few years. 

Economically, socially and politically, there has been such a revolution in our country that has put people in trouble and thinking. It is very difficult for an individual to solve these problems without guidance so he needs guidance. In this way, the solution to the educational problems of the students is guidance in the educational field as well.

 

According to psychologists, individuals are characterized by their physical characteristics, emotional characteristics, personality traits, abilities, and performance

 

They are different from each other. Similarly, different employment needs are different. Therefore, guidance is needed to resolve individual differences. 

Apart from this, if history is studied, it is found that the countries in which the governments strive for the welfare of every individual are the ones that develop. 

On the contrary, if people are not given the opportunity to express their thoughts, then their development and sense of self cannot be created there. 

This work can be done only with the help of guidance. For the development of the country, there is a dire need for educational guidance, even if it is industrial. You take the educational development, efforts are being made in the country to bring changes in the structure of education, new subjects are being added, such subjects like skills and technical work without guidance, it is very difficult for the students to choose them.

 

It is also a fact that as the population increases, problems also increase, or in other words, population and social problems go hand in hand. With the increase in human population, there is also a difference in the social position of each individual and often due to such situations, the spirit of competition in acquiring material resources also grows. The result of this is that human relations start to become impersonal and economic and political problems also get complicated as you know that the population of world is growing faster than in the past. It is increasing Problems  along with the population. In such situations, people are guided in finding livelihood, education and the proper solutions of problems of life.

 

Along with the increase in population, the number of students attending our school has also increased. In such situations, the educational institutions need to organize their efforts more, the students need to be guided as to which subjects to choose in order to be successful in the future life. We should try to link our education with our economic system. Education should be purposeful. 

Students should adopt realistic aspects in choosing academic subjects. Along with general education in institutions, students respect professional education. It is very important to have guidance for all these situations.

 

Another problem is the increase in the number of failed students in our education system. The number of students failing from primary to university education is staggering. 

We should pay attention to the failing students and give them opportunities to do well in the society. In such a case, it is the primary responsibility of the government to provide educational facilities for them. Schools lso have a duty to make their teaching methods effective by removing the shortcomings of the students and to continuously guide the students.

On the other hand, there are very few guidance facilities in our country. The result of this is that we often see people who, due to lack of proper guidance, make their character vulnerable to various slips, even though they are valuable assets of the nation. Some of them will take the reins of the country tomorrow.

 

Therefore, it is very important to have a balanced and proper development of their personality. If they are not given proper attention, it is quite possible that they may end up succumbing to tendencies, so it is the duty of parents and teachers to guide the children in a systematic manner. However, now the government is paying attention to the establishment of guidance institutions and the need and importance of guidance in schools is being emphasized. In this regard, there is a clear recommendation in the National Education Commission that: "A systematic series of guidance and selection is necessary in modern education. One of the reasons for this is the diversity and differences in individual abilities. The other is the monotheism and system of education in modern education. Emphasizes the need for specialized specialists in every field of life. In countries with limited resources and who wish to make the most of the educational facilities available, it is necessary to develop a system of guidance'.

 

The National Education Commission further emphasized that suitable tests should be used to guide students to understand intelligence, special abilities, educational attainment and other personality traits. In our country, students have to choose different fields or professions in the classes of 8th, 10th and 12th. Therefore, specific management of their need for guidance on such occasions is necessary. Along with this, in order to effectively implement the guidance program, it is necessary to have a guidance institution in every educational institution for which trained People should be hired. This can certainly help in unleashing the potential of the youth under their education.
