Curriculum means path in English, it is called (Curriculum). The word Minhaj has appeared in the Holy Quran, which means path. On which teachers and students walk to reach their destination. In ancient times, curriculum refers to the list of subjects prescribed to be taught to the students of a particular class. This is how it is defined in the present day.

 

Curriculum is the set of experiences of the child that he or she experiences in the school. Curriculum refers to the experiences that the school uses to help achieve educational goals. (Dr. Akbar)

 

Curriculum components

 

All the sciences and arts, experiences, hobbies and other accessories are part of the curriculum to carry out the education process. The two major components of the curriculum are:

 

 



1.Content

 

The knowledge that man has acquired from various sources. When it is given to teachers and students in the form of a book, it is called material. This material is prepared keeping in mind the needs, abilities, interests and emotions of the students. This material is generally prepared according to the national social and economic needs of the society, the nation, the ideology of life, the values ​​of the state. So that the students are made good citizens and international people of the future. Curriculum should have this feature that it can meet the need of the future.

 

2- Co-curricular activities

 

Curriculum is actually a combination of two things which are curricular activities and co-curricular activities. Co-curricular activities reinforce the curriculum and facilitate its teaching. They play an important role in building and forming the personality of the students. These improve the character and character of the students. They play an important role in improving their health. Generally, there are no regular examinations of co-curricular activities, but some co-curricular activities are examined, both of which are called curriculum.

 

Importance of Curriculum

 

Curriculum is the heart of education. If the curriculum is removed from the process of education, the rest of the process ends automatically. Curriculum editing is very important to achieve them. The following headings are given to clarify the importance of the syllabus:


 


1- Ease of teaching process

 

According to the modern concept, various activities are organized under a comprehensive plan to achieve the educational objectives in the curriculum. Teachers take help from the organization of the curriculum to fulfill their duties and achieve specific objectives. The academic and recreational activities of the students are based on the curriculum and the time table of the seminary is prepared based on it. The selection of the same subject of the curriculum is prepared according to the needs, interests and development of the children, which makes it possible for the teacher to continue the teaching process in a pleasant environment. Modern curriculum has proved that the same subject was considered difficult for students not long ago. 2-Communication skills

 

The main purpose of communication is to communicate one's thoughts and viewpoints effectively to others and create understanding. This is impossible without interaction and correlation. Language is the best medium of communication and language is impossible without curriculum. An educated person influences others only through communication. He changes the character of his friends, colleagues and relatives only through communication.

 

3- Fulfillment of economic needs of children in the curriculum

 

They are given various skills and professions to lead a better life. Children master them through education and lead a successful future life. If the curriculum cannot meet the economic needs, the next generation will not be able to become self-sufficient and useful citizens. They will not be able to adopt legitimate, halal and profitable means and methods. 

4.Coordination and continuity in activities

 

The process of education continues throughout life. It is especially high from childhood to adulthood. Every stage of life is connected with each other. Therefore, linkage and continuity in educational activities is very important.

 

While preparing the curriculum, it is kept in mind that there should be continuity in education. Primary, secondary and higher education should be integrated with each other so that the students can easily take steps towards their mental and moral growth without any difficulty and wastage of time.

 

   





5. Comprehensive development of students

 

Thanks to the curriculum, a better and conducive atmosphere is created for education. The boundaries of the educational experiences are defined and the teacher is better able to guide the students. Curriculum is the main means of achieving the national goals of education, because whatever practical work is done in educational institutions for imparting knowledge and training the new generation is owed to education. With the help of curriculum, the nation achieves its practical scientific and technical goals.

In order to support the contemporary requirements, it is very important that every country keeps a close eye on the rapid development of the times and with the social changes as the knowledge, scientific and technical needs of the nation increase.
