In this modern era Facebook, YouTube and education are as linked as once the institutions, societies, teachers and students.
The importance of social media is acknowledged by masses around the world. Here two major platforms of social media, I.E, Facebook and YouTube will be discussed that how these two platforms are used to get help in different educational fields.
Facebook:
The Facebook is a very powerful tool, a major platform not only to share the news events and updates but it is also a source of education tool in these days.
It was impossible to get connected to the best teachers of the world before this technology. Many famous teachers of the world created their accounts on Facebook to be connected to a large number of students around the world 🗺 instead of teaching a limited number of students in a classroom of a school, college or university.
This platform is public and when you share anything here it is seen and heard by all who have access to Facebook.
If you are providing quality education and information in a unique way the more and more students will join you and they will inspire others to join your Facebook group or page. This is a good thing on behalf of a teacher and a student as well that the quality does matter. If you are not providing most demanding and desired materials you will be ignored soon.
Many pages on Facebook are giving quality education free of cost on different areas. And students all over the world are getting benefits sitting in their homes on comfortable sofas or couches. Thanks to the mind which provided such a nice platform.
The teachers, professors and experts who satisfy the followers giving them the best possible knowledge in a simple and easy way are mostly requested by the students to have one on one or separate classes on payment. In this way they can earn money from students and the students can get education from the teachers whom they never thought to see even without Facebook or social media platforms.
While every scientific invention has its advantages, it also
has many disadvantages. It depends on the thinking and training of the user
whether he uses the invention in positive ways or negative aspects dominate his
use. It is also worth mentioning here that no scientific invention is good or
bad, but it depends on the user to prove the invention as good or bad by his
own actions.
In short, every scientific invention is neutral. If a large number
of people use it negatively, it does not mean that the invention itself is
wrong. New technology is introduced in our society but unfortunately people are
not trained to use it positively.
A student's learning process is very important. Keep in mind
here that you cannot learn anything until you realize that you do not know or
have no knowledge. This feeling makes you want to learn and know something.
Secondly, you should also realize that everything in this universe can teach
you a new lesson in life.
Facebook provides you with a wealth of information,
including both authentic and non-authentic information. It is up to you how you
can use this information. Similarly, there is a gym of experts from every field
of the world on Facebook. It also depends on who you want to include in your
circle. Facebook also gives you a means to connect with all these people.
As a student you use
Facebook to enhance your learnings but you should keep in mind the followings .
1. Before sharing any kind of content or writing, please
think once:
... Why are you sharing this?
... Who are your target audience?
If there are specific
people, make sure to make it clear in your writing
Who are you addressing?
... What's new in your post that might interest people as
well as increase their knowledge?
...isn't your post shared multiple times? If the answer is
yes, then remember that such a post is more likely to be ignored.
... Your post won't waste other people's time? Remember that
as much as your time is valuable, so is others'. So be considerate of others'
time.
... Your post won't hurt anyone's heart? If it does, you may
lose a good friend.
... Also take care that you have expressed your point in
short and concise words. Too long posts lose readers' attention.
2. Avoid making unnecessary and multiple posts, otherwise
the importance of your words may be lost in the eyes of others.
3. Respect everyone's opinion because you have the right
to disagree
4. Keep your profile up to date. Do not hide your
personality from others. Especially your educational qualifications,
professional skills and the institution you belong to should be mentioned on
your profile. It is also important because your introduction can bring
like-minded people closer to you and increase your circle of friends.
5. Get into the habit of asking questions and be sure to
respond to others' questions and comments. May be your question will increase
your knowledge as well as others
6. Before sharing anything, make sure to verify that your
information is correct or not.
7. If you are sharing something someone else said that
you like, make sure to cite it.
How can you effectively use Facebook as a teacher? You may
think that using Facebook is a complete waste of your time or you may think
that using Facebook is wrong.
Remember! You can't prove a line is shorter
unless you draw a line bigger than it. Likewise, try to teach your students how
to use technology in a positive way. Think of Facebook as your classroom and
the people on your friends list as your students. Create your own unique page
and make your personality stand out to the world. Share your life experiences
as much and effectively as possible.
Don't limit the knowledge that Allah
Almighty has given you to your own mind and your special class, but share it
with the common people by widening the scope of your thinking.
YouTube:
YouTube is another platform to get quality education but here you have to depend on the above platform (Facebook) because and teacher who prove himself a perfect and the best teacher on Facebook can ask the students to subscribe his you tube channel.
It is seen that most of the famous teachers on you tube started their journey from Facebook as it is a public platform and everyone see your post or watch your video.
On the other hand on you tube you have to launch a campaign to get more subscribers. In this modern era these platforms are beneficial for both sides the learners and the teachers .
Learners can learn spending a little amount and the teachers can earn a handsome amount. Once it was unbelievable even the great scientist could never think that a day will come when you say something here and it will be heard around the world but just as there are pros and cons to using anything, there
are pros and cons to using YouTube, especially when using YouTube in the
classroom.
Essentially, the presence of YouTube has made it much easier for
teachers to teach students in the classroom, especially about theories that
have some complexity. Now it has become easier for teachers to teach these
theories and subjects with great clarity to their students through YouTube.
Until recently, some students were bored while reading some dry theories, but
on YouTube, since everything is explained with the help of images and videos,
it keeps students interested.
